Dollar Shave Club - Lagoon

Part 2 of the Dollar Shave Club booking after the holidays, we tackled very difficult shots that involved removal of practical liquid that didn’t match the viscosity of the shave butter. Extensive integration work was needed to get the added butter to feel right, mixed in around the main guy as well as synchronized swimmers.

The shot of the guy being launched at the camera saw me employ numerous SmartVector paint patches, handing one off to another, to convincingly remove a shadow on his torso from the stunt wire.

This was one of those projects where I started to appreciate how the closer you get to a final comp, the cleaner everything fits together, and the less work it looks like it took.
