Continuing FAM

This stretch of work at Zoic is another hard one to lock down all the projects. As I was in the middle of For All Mankind Season 3, my day-to-day changed very little. I was focused on seeing the project through, which was continuing to grow in scope despite being six months in.

Staff Duties

After wrapping on FAM, I moved onto such projects as Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, and others. Throughout my tenure on staff, I jumped from project to project, often having to delicately split my time as one wrapped and another needed me. I also enjoyed benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, and a 401k. This was a time where I felt I had fully come full-circle. Where I had these same benefits at Marathon, I had quit, jumped back into VFX, and finally found myself with a real full-time position doing VFX with all the same benefits. But as with many things in life, it wouldn’t last forever…

Strikes

In late spring of 2023, the simultaneous actors and writers strikes of 2023 hit. The impact on Zoic’s episodic work was felt immediately, and I, sadly, was among the first to be laid off. It would not be a permanent goodbye, however.
